Icarus

In 2019 the artist is selected in the public notice of FAMA - Marcos Amaro Arts Factory - Means and Processes of Creation in Art, from Itú – SP, where  experiences for almost a year a productive and intense period of creation living with advisors and other artists.

The work Ícaro is born from this period.

At the end of this process, a collective public exhibition was set up on the premises of FAMA, with the most emblematic works produced by each artist.

In the reinterpretation of the myth of Icarus, in addition to the strong personal influence of another myth, the Father Hero, the conception of the work takes place during the creation process itself, where the final material of the work, plaster, is used to reproduce figures of Icarus to exhaustion, from a mold of the original piece in plasticine, discarded at the end of the process.

The work is presented in an installation format, focusing on the moment of flight and the fall, as metaphors for the countless attempts and withdrawals that plague man in the search for what is vital to him.

It is the representation of how we deal with our mistakes, which accumulate in the form of a pile of fallen Icarus.
